They act and move in collective and separate spaces but do not physically touch. The physicist and philosopher Karen Barad writes: ‘When two hands touch, there is a carnal sensuality, a feeling of pressure, presence and a closeness of otherness that brings the other almost as close as you do’. But what if hands cannot or are not allowed to touch? Is there emotion without touch? How can we touch each other, ourselves and others?
A pane of glass, a screen separates and connects the audience and performers - maybe there are two - or more.
Thoughts, impulses, feelings and comments can be left here while watching or afterwards.
The live stream is broadcast from the exhibition room 'the mvsvm' in Leipzig, Germany. The closed space can be seen from the street through a pane of glass. The viewer can decide how long they want to watch within the specified period.
